Bangkok : the energetic, fast-paced capital of Thailand is home to a number of people equal to the population of Belgium!
After Koh Lanta, we spent 2 days in Bangkok before going back to Brussels.
The first day, we did some shopping at Siam Paragon & Siam Center.
We also checked MBK Mall, temple of cheap bargains for Bankokians and tourists alike. If you want to buy here make sure to bargain, it’s expected and can be a fun experience if taken lightheartedly. Check quality and authenticity after all shopping in Thailand often goes by the motto “Same same, but different” 😉
Second day, we visited Wat Phra Kaeo, walked around Bangkok and stopped for a delicious snack at Toby’s (soon on the blog).
In the evenning, we went to China Town.
Remember the opening scenes of the Beach? China town really reminded me of it. Incessant waves of people walk and food stalls on the lookout for the ultimate snack, be it fried pork cutlets, mango with sticky rice or…insects! I have to admit, I wasn’t brave enough to try one of those! The neighborhood should be explored at night when the food stalls appear…
Take a look at my Instagram & Facebook 🙂
Vertigo & Moon Bar
What a skyline Bangkok has! It’s easy to forget that you are in South East Asia and not in movie shot in Manhattan. The view from this rooftop bar is simply incredible! While the cocktails are just ok, the view left me breathless!
