Last Monday, I was invited to the restaurant ” l’Amandier ” (Chef Martin Volkaerts) on the occasion of the event “A New Food Experience”.

During this diner, I discovered the Cervena meat.
Cervena is a quality meat, coming from New Zealand, available between April and end of August in a lot of Belgian restaurants.

Whenever we eat meat, I think quality is important and also that the animals live in good conditions!
Cervena ensures that the deer only eat grass, live in the open air 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, without stress and that the use of hormones and growth accelerators is banned.
This is the reason why I accepted the invitation, despite the fact that I’m not really a meat-eater! :-p

On the menu:
Craquant de céréales houmous et cervena fumé
Praline de foie gras crumble de curry
Tourteaux safran et lait de coco
Tartare de cervena fumé butternut kumquats et cornichon
Skrei chorizo salsifis
Cervena polenta sucrine sauces au poivre long
Comme une dame blanche

Amongst the amazing wines we tasted, I particulary loved Cuvée Clémence 2015, Entre-Deux-Mers.

Thank you very much Cervena, l’Amandier, JRE, Metro Cash & Carry and Agence Cinna for the invitation!

Take a look at my Instagram & Facebook :)
